Caernarfon Celts Wheelchair Basketball Club
Club Biography
Caernarfon Celts Wheelchair Basketball Club first started the beginning of November 2011 in response to the development of wheelchair basketball within North Wales.
In response to demand the club decided to create a seperate junior session on a Tuesday night.
Originally just taking part within the North Wales friendly league, in 2014 the club took a massive step and entered 2 of it's juniors into the U15 Welsh Trials. Both juniors were successful in making the Welsh Squad. In 2015 we have been able to top this with 3 juniors making the Welsh Squad. In 2015 players signed to National League and in 2016, 2 female players took part in Women's League.
As a club we are extremely proud and we couldn't run without the support of our coaches, volunteers and members. Our main belief is to train hard and have fun. We are one of the few clubs in Gwynedd which are aiming to complete the Disability Sport Wales Insport Gold.
Our coaches and volunteers have completed many courses including disability inclusion training, first aid, safeguarding and protecting children, and coaching qualifications.
